‘Aubade’
“In a small church hall converted in to a theatre in Constantine we saw a show in which fantastic well observed writing met with the sort of acting that would have london critics gushing with adjectives, in a show that made us laugh and squirm and think and applaud wildly at the end. The show is centred around the adults and teenagers of a class room, written by a man who actually understands teenagers and gives them a truthful, amusing, deeply cynical voice that glimmers with a little hope towards the end. Hats off to Jon Welch and cube theatre for rivaling the new writing theatre of London, for telling a story that stayed with us long after we left the theatre.”
Testimonial from 1927 Theatre (www.19-27.co.uk)
Mixing live action and film, Aubade tackles fear, loneliness, courage and trauma with honesty and wit, combining emotional depth, convincing dialogue and near-perfect pacing to create a piece of masterly storytelling that stays with you long after the darkness inevitably falls.

It is beautiful, heartbreaking and thought-provoking… I have genuinely never seen something so beautifully performed on stage… The piece combines cultures and languages, histories and futures, and builds bridges between them to produce an incredible, heartbreaking and captivating story.”
